#velvet_revolution

April 2018, Yerevan. Armenia has witnessed an unprecedented series of events. People of Armenia have accomplished what was long thought to be an impossible dream. Victorious, non-violent and peaceful revolution has led to the resignation of the corrupted ruling government, which was named the “velvet revolution”. It has started by a man whose name is Nikol Pashinyan, a peaceful activist for over a period of 20 years, who only believed in love as the only tool to battle all kinds of hatred and aggression. He was inspired by the great Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. Love was the only source of bravery for him. He had no fear and so adventurous that even the multiple times of arrests and the attempts of assassinating him did not force him to doubt his beliefs. He kept believing that the only way to free the country and the people from the hands of the hostile regime is through peaceful processes. He took the first step “my step”, which was followed by hundreds of thousands, marching, singing and dancing in the streets. The colorful rays of hope were shining in the eyes of the people. He was the fighting knight that lead the entire nation towards the victorious end of the revolution.
The core engine of the revolution was the young generation who erased the war and violence from their minds, but this did not hold them back from resisting the dictatorship, from fighting corruption, from fighting for social justice, from living a decent life in a free world. However, the color of resistance was not bloody red, but the color of the rainbow. They showed how the power of love can beat evil, how the tolerance can bring justice, how open minds can create peace. No matter how you depress the voice of free people, they will sing you back with their hearts full of love and peace. No matter how you burry their emotions alive, they will come out later, stronger and more powerful, happier and more colorful. They will come forth victorious.
